A recent survey conducted for the Health Technology Center (HealthTech)
by Harris Interactive, in cooperation with Pricewaterhouse Coopers
and the Institute for the Future (IFTF), identified six Internet-enabled
services as "essential" for future success of physicians.
They were proven valuable because they reduce administrative costs,
accelerate payments for care, and improve the quality of care.
According to CEO Molly Joel Coye, M.D., M.P.H., "Physicians
are actively seeking to integrate computers and the Internet into
their practices and do not appear to need further convincing that
technology will play an increasingly significant role." The
re-spondents to the survey indicated that the applications that
would have the greatest value include:
- Diagnostic reporting (34%)
- Claims processing services (35%)
- Pharmaceutical information (34%)
- Purchase of medical office products (29%)
- E-mail communications with patients (29%)
- Electronic medical records (19% indicated testing or implementation
of EMR)
When asked which services they considered critical for organization
success, physicians identified two essential clinical applications:
- diagnostic reporting
- electronic medical records.
Combining our Electronic Medical Record System with the
accessibility of the Internet unleashes a powerful strategic resource
for any laboratory. With our system, you do not need to understand
Web-based HTML code to share diagnostic reports over the Internet
- you simply create a PDF document using our system and upload the
document to a secure HIPAA compliant website. Medical diagnostic
reports can be brought together in one place that is accessible
anywhere at any time.
